We live next to Pondside Gardens. Pondside Gardens is the home of Dennis and Diane Lenz and not only do they live there, they also have THE spot in the county gardeners love to come to see and purchase from numerous varieties of hostas they have on display.
Although I do have a few of their hostas in my gardens, the reason I love to go over and visit their gardens is for the peace and beauty that I can take in just by walking down the road. In summer many weeks I take a Sunday stroll over and walk around or just sit on a bench for awhile. Megan has been going along to feed the fish in the huge pond since she was a little tyke.
I have always loved the excitement of spending time in the big city and it has always been a dream of mine to live just one year in a city like Chicago, but I honestly have to say that I would not trade living where I do for anything. I can always take weekend trips to the big city to satisfy my cultural cravings, but I have the best life here right with a mini retreat right next door!
